In 1995, a bundle of joy (or should I be truthful and say a little hellion!) came to our family from Alison Strang and Westerlea Kennel in Canada – Cedar. Cedar was everything a breeder could ask for in a major stud: sound structure, strong desire/ability and a whole lot of confident attitude. Over the years, Cedar and I added many accomplishments to his name, NSDTRC(USA) and ARBA championships - AKC Obedience & Rally and both US and Canadian titles (with the help of good friends) in obedience and field. Cedar was selected in a statewide competition to grace the cover of DogWorld magazine in 1999 as the breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club. As a sire, Cedar has passed on his great abilities to his offspring: Halsey – first Master Hunter; Chile – first agility Mach; Parker – first AKC CH and so many more over achievers … in conformation, field, obedience and agility. I am very lucky that most of the breeders who chose Cedar for their breeding program also kept a pup. I am always thrilled to hear of their accomplishments. In 2008, at the Annual Meeting in California, Cedar was 1 of 3 Males awarded one of the Club's first ROMX [ROM-ROMX].
